Contemporary Quotes from June Worship
Hope begins in the dark, the
stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn
will come. You wait and watch and work: You don't give up. --Anne Lamott
Once you've done the mental
work, there comes a point you have to throw yourself into the action and put
your heart on the line. That means not only being brave, but being
compassionate towards yourself, your teammates and your opponents. -- Phil Jackson, Los
Angeles Lakers head coach
Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is
the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the
elimination of non-essentials. --Lin Yutang

Mission
Travel Fund
The purpose
of this fund is to help us make connections with people around the world who
live in drastically different circumstances than we do. These connections
provide an opportunity for us to give gifts across cultures, but also receive
gifts through the newly built relationships.
This year Hyde Park’s Mission Travel Fund helped bring Pastor Angel and
his wife Jeaneth of our Colombian Sister Church to Boise. Their visit gave us an opportunity to put
faces with voices and stories. In the past members of our congregation have
been called to do special missions in places such as Africa and Mexico. The Mission Travel Fund helps people respond
positively to God’s call to reach out beyond Boise. Please prayerfully consider giving an extra donation to this fund
this year. Who knows what God has
planned for each one of us? Perhaps
it’s a long distance trip to share the expression of God’s work in your life.
