Idaho Mennonite Relief Sale

THANK YOU to everyone! The sale was a great success again and we couldn’t have done it without all of your support in the many ways you gave and contributed. The day’s proceeds were around $60,000. A more detailed report will be available later.

Summer Worship Schedule

Again this year we will have a portable prayer booklet available that may travel with you this summer in your family adventures. Worship will be held at the church every Sunday at 10 AM. Some upcoming highlights include personal sharing by Angel and Janeth from Columbia on June 17.

Tracking Volunteers at the Church

We have been requested by the State Insurance Fund and workman’s compensation insurance that we track volunteer hours. There will be a log posted in the kitchen (near the door) and on the door to the sanctuary. As you volunteer at the church, please record your name, date, hours worked, and tasks. Thank you very much.

Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship

College Scholarship Requests

Hyde Park supports its youth in attending college by providing a scholarship for 4 years. Youth who wish to take advantage of this assistance should notify Janet Buschert, Church Treasurer, at least four months before they enroll. This deadline was May 15 so we have extended it until June 15. If the institution the youth will attend matches this gift, matching gift forms should also be provided at this time.

Congratulations to Jim & Nicole Yoder!

We have heard news that Jim & Nicole welcomed baby boy Ruben into the world on May 11. All is well and Grandparents Ron & Cathy Yoder are thrilled! Ron & Cathy attended Hyde Park for years and live in Boise and Jim & Nicole live in Portland.

News About Camp Palisades

Held In the Palisades area of eastern Idaho and sponsored by the Mennonite church in Aberdeen, Idaho.

From the Camp Planning Committee:

We are sorry to be so slow to get information out about our camp this year.  It has been a struggle to decide what to do in light of the logging off of so many of the trees that the pine beetle has attacked.   The camp has been changed considerably, but we have decided that the camp program is too important to let even one year go by without providing the camp experience for the young people.   We will be working hard to get the camp into shape for the camp season.   We hope that you will all still be able to plan to send your youth up for the wonderful spiritual experience.

The High School camp will be first, in hopes that these young people who have spent several years at camp in the past will be able to help with some brain storming.  We are hoping to make it a service camp theme, where they will be able to help us with some final trail clearing near the camp where they feel important trails have been disrupted.  The camp has a lot of wide open space now.  It is beautiful, but still needs some work.  We ARE planning a RAFT TRIP for the youth... it will not be all work and no play.

We are concerned that the camp may be very warm and want to try a bit shorter camps this year to see how we handle the heat. We want to remind everyone that they will definitely want to bring water bottles!  Camel backs would be even better even both. SUNSCREEN  &  HATS will be a must.   Please remind everyone that they will need these items.

With all that in mind here is the Schedule:

Youth Camp       July 12 – 15............. $70
Jr. High Camp     July 19 – 22............. $60
Junior Camp       July 27 – 29............. $55
All Camps will leave Aberdeen at 5 PM on Thursday and return at 4 PM on Sunday.

There will be water bottles for early registration by June 28th.

We are still looking for a director and Speaker for the Youth camp.  We need a director for the Junior camp.  We need counselors and health care personnel for all camps.   If you know of anyone who would like to help with camps this year, please let us know.

Camp really is beautiful with the additional view, and I think we will have a wonderful time in spite of the change.

Please call Tim Satterfield at 208.397.5277 or Lura Schroeder at 208.226.5361 for more information.  You can e-mail as well.  If anyone wants to register by e-mail I will be happy to take that as well.  Anyone wanting to help with Youth camp can also contact Monty Ledford at 208.397.3439 or mepluseight@juno.com

Congregant Emergency Fund

This month’s Mission Focus is the Congregant Emergency Fund. The church carries a fund of $1,000 to be used for emergency financial assistance for persons within the congregation. The fund was set up as a revolving fund, meaning those persons who benefit from the fund are merely invited to give back to the fund at some point, but there is no obligation to do so. As need arises, the mission committee and the pastor and leadership team access the fund for use. During this fiscal year, $600 has been given to help in emergencies. We would like to replenish the fund so we have the full $1,000 available for future needs. Thank you for your generosity.

Bible Quotefall Puzzles No.41 to 43

To solve these puzzles, insert the letters in each column into the boxes below them to form the words of a Bible
quotation. The letters are not necessarily in order-it's up to you to determine which letter goes in which box below
it. Each letter will be used once and only once. Black squares usually indicate the end of a word but are also used
as spacers at the beginning and/or ending of a quotation
